Speech therapy is the treatment, support, and care provided to children and adults who have difficulty with communication, cognition, voice, or swallowing. Speech therapy services are provided by certified and experienced therapists that are trained to identify the disorder, develop and implement a treatment plan, and provide parent-training and support.
Speech therapy is crucial for children or adults with communication difficulties. If your child has a speech and language delay, it is important to get some help right away. If left untreated, speech and language delay at an early age can have long lasting effects. Problems with understanding and speaking language can lead to issues with social skills, reading and writing, and overall learning. Early intervention is key.
