What is Speech Therapy?

Speech therapy is the treatment, support, and care provided to children and adults who have
difficulty with communication, cognition, voice, or swallowing. Therapy services are provided by certified and experienced Speech Language Pathologists that are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). All our therapists  are trained to identify the disorder, develop and implement a treatment plan, and provide parent-training and support.

Our services include treatment for Speech and Language Delay, Articulation, Autism Services, Reading & Writing Skills, Stuttering, Post-Stroke Recovery, & Accent Modification.

Why Is Speech Therapy Important?

Speech therapy is crucial for children with communication difficulties. If your child has a speech and language delay, it is important to get some help right away. If left untreated, speech and language delay at an early age can have long lasting effects. Problems with understanding and speaking language can lead to issues with social skills, reading and writing, and overall learning. Early intervention is key.

Is Speech Therapy Covered by Insurance?

Yes. Most extended health plans cover speech therapy services. Depending on the insurance company, direct billing may also be an option. In addition, there are a variety of charitable organizations that offer financial support to families that require speech therapy services. Contact us today for more information about financing.
